Coral reef is one of the most various and colourful ecosystems in the world. It is a home for more than 4,000 species of fish, including 700 species of coral, and thousands of other plant and animal planet. Today, corals are the oldest extremely ancient animals (they have more than 400 million years) and the most complex organisms on Earth. Coral reef is a really important object of studies of our researches, giving possible the understanding of certain human diseases, such as cancer, Alzheimer, or malaria.
Coral Guardian uses artificial reef to make its studies possible and help natural coral reef grow normally and be a shelter for its rich ecosystem.
Artificial reefs are designed with the collaboration of our marine biologists, architects, engineers and designers, optimized for the development of biodiversity. These artificial reefs made by our team will have a similar look to natural ones to create the best conditions of natural coral reefs’ growth and their development. Artificial reefs are colonized by pioneer species, providing an alternate environment to greater biodiversity. These are places where juveniles can better protect themselves against predators.
You can act as well by helping us to make our researches and laboratory studies possible! We are doing our best to develop our projects and reach all “Ocean lovers”. By adopting your coral, you will help us make natural reef grow faster. We will plant it for you in a special underwater park. You will get your certificate and a possibility to see your artificial reef, once you will visit our research zone. Don’t forget to name your new sea friend!
Our team is trying to spread an important message to the world and an indispensable knowledge to preserve marine life and its biodiversity. Thanks to our local marine ecosystem and marine ecology within a teaching framework, young generation could learn how to use “oceans treasures” in a proper way, without causing harm to the Ocean and its underwater inhabitants. Learn more about our actions, be the part of them and participate! Your donation will let us go on with our work, create artificial reef and restore the natural one. Finally, you will help us save natural marine ecosystem untouched, so important for local population (reach food resource), economy, tourism, coastal protection and international researches.
