Coral Guardian is a non-profit organization standing for environmental protection, trying to fight against environmental problems and environmental pollution. We have for a goal to underline the importance of marine ecosystems and, especially, the importance of coral reefs and social, economic and environmental effects of their disappearance.
Our non-profit organization is trying to restore and preserve coral reef ecosystems, standing for environmental protection. Why are they so important for our environment? Thanks to our actions (rehabilitation of damaged coral reefs) we are recovering loss biodiversity in the environment. The restoration of coral reef brings only benefits to the environment, local communities and marine ecosystems. They let regenerate local biodiversity, buffer coastal habitats against flood and erosion, or create a “submarine world”, important for the colonization of marine life.
Our non-profit organization is giving you an opportunity to be a part of environmental protection plan. Our actions are bringing benefits as well to local communities by enhancing fisheries and supporting artisanal fishing activities.
We are raising environmental awareness among local communities thanks to our environmental awareness programs, intended to be delivered to local schools (Coral Guardian and Awareness presentation, Awareness program for divers about reef ecosystem, or Educational underwater trail – Gili Trawangan – Indonesia). This knowledge will let people develop local ecotourism with, as main rule, environmental protection.
By creating artificial reefs, we are fighting for environmental protection, against environmental problems and environmental pollution to preserve all submarine species and an important source of food for villages depending on it.
We are promoting researches concerning TGFbeta, coral fluorescence, programs for aquaculture and studies on biodynamic aquaculture. Our work can contribute to the understanding of some human diseases such as cancer, malaria, or Alzheimer. Finally, we are trying to understand coral reefs’ structure and their biological processes.
Let our non-profit organization spread environmental awareness! Be the change that you want to see in the Ocean and donate!
