This mission is carried out in partnership with the NGO Coral Guardian, which provides technical and scientific expertise. The Tourism Activities &amp; Outreach Manager will have the following main<br \/>\nresponsibilities:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Raise awareness to tourists and locals (40%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow and apply established methods to raise awareness among tourists arriving at Hatamin island.Help Coral Guardian and Yaysan to develop an outreach strategy for the project.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to training the local team in delivering awareness sessions for tourists.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and lead regular awareness sessions for local tour operators, boat drivers, and hotel management about the project, the MPA, and associated rules (in consultation with Coral Guardian)<\/li>\n<li>Organize and conduct outreach presentations for tourists in hotels, dive shops, and other tourism partners (in consultation with Coral Guardian).<\/li>\n<li>Participate in outreach presentations for local communities at surrounding villages on topics like coral reefs, Marine Protected Area, coral restoration, among others.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the availability, good condition, and proper use of materials needed for awareness activities. Contribute to the creation of outreach content and materials, in collaboration with Coral Guardian.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Eco-volunteering program (40%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to defining and applying defined methods for the eco-volunteering activities together with Coral Guardian.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain smooth and timely communication with tourism partners regarding schedules, group sizes, and activity logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the preparation, availability, and maintenance of materials needed for eco-volunteering activities (with support from the Scientific manager).<\/li>\n<li>Help the team conduct eco-volunteering activities (with support from the Scientific manager).<\/li>\n<li>Collect feedback from participants to monitor and improve the quality of the eco-volunteering experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Support in improving the English knowledge of the team (15%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Together with the English Teacher, develop an annual English course program adapted to the team\u2019s needs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the English Teacher in delivering weekly classes and ensuring regular team participation.<\/li>\n<li>Support and collaborate with external English teachers when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Help monitor progress by preparing and conducting written and spoken<br \/>\nEnglish tests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Administrative (5%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Validate the yearly objectives and indicators with the Coral Guardian team.<\/li>\n<li>Follow and update work schedules as required.<\/li>\n<li>Report the tourism activities following the protocol agreed with the Coral Guardian team.<\/li>\n<li>Report any blocking issues for tourism or outreach activities and propose solutions together with the Coral Guardian team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Required Profile<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in hospitality, coastal\/marine tourism, underwater activities, community outreach, environmental education, or related fields.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and public-speaking skills, comfortable presenting to groups (tourists, partners, local communities).<\/li>\n<li>Very good spoken and written English; ability to support basic English learning.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to coordinate activities, manage schedules, and handle logistics with multiple partners.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of marine conservation, coral reefs, or MPAs (an advantage; willingness to learn is essential).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to learn and follow scientific or technical protocols and explain them clearly.<\/li>\n<li>Good organizational skills and attention to detail, especially for reporting and material management.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with digital communication tools (WhatsApp, email, Google Drive, basic office tools).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Qualities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong motivation or passion for marine conservation and community engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Positive attitude, approachable, and confident interacting with tourists and local stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Team-player with the ability to collaborate with multicultural teams (local staff, Coral Guardian team, tour operators).<\/li>\n<li>Reliability and sense of responsibility, especially when representing the project to the public.<\/li>\n<li>Autonomous and proactive\u2014able to take initiative while following established protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable and flexible, comfortable working in a field-based environment and handling changing conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proficiency in Indonesian and English is essential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conditions and Application Process<\/strong><br \/>\nInterested candidates are invited to send their CV and a cover letter <strong>before the 15\/02\/2026<\/strong> to the following contact:<\/p>\n<p>Florina Jacob<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/f.jacob@coralguardian.org\">f.jacob@coralguardian.org.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The Waka Eling Semeton Foundation encourages diversity and inclusion in its recruitment process.
