Main Responsibilities<\/b><\/h1>\n

As part of its coral restoration project at Hatamin Island (<\/span>Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia<\/b>), the Waka Eling Semeton Foundation is recruiting a Tourism Activities & Outreach Manager. This mission is carried out in partnership with the NGO Coral Guardian, which provides technical and scientific expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tourism Activities & Outreach Manager will have the following main responsibilities:<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Raise awareness to tourists and locals (40%)<\/b><\/h2>\n

\n
• Follow and apply established methods to <\/span>raise awareness among tourists <\/span><\/i>at Hatamin island.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Contribute to the creation and development of an <\/span>outreach strategy<\/span><\/i> for the project.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Contribute to <\/span>training the local team<\/span><\/i> in delivering awareness sessions for tourists.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Organize and lead <\/span>regular awareness sessions<\/span><\/i> for local tour operators, boat drivers, and hotel tourists and employees, dive shops and other tourism partners about the project, the MPA, and associated rules (in consultation with Coral Guardian).<\/span><\/li>\n
• Participate in outreach <\/span>presentations for local communities<\/span><\/i> at surrounding villages on topics like coral reefs, Marine Protected Area, coral restoration, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Contribute to the<\/span> creation of outreach content<\/span><\/i> and materials, in collaboration with Coral Guardian.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  2) Eco-volunteering program (40%)<\/b><\/h2>\n

  \n
  • Contribute to the development of the eco-volunteering activities together with Coral Guardian.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of an <\/span>eco-tourism partnership strategy<\/span><\/i>, with support from Coral Guardian team.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Maintain smooth and timely communication with tourism partners regarding schedules, group sizes, and activity logistics.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Coordinate the preparation, availability, and maintenance of materials needed for eco-volunteering activities.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Collect feedback from participants to <\/span>monitor and improve<\/span><\/i> the quality of the eco-volunteering experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    3) Support in improving the English knowledge of the team (15%)<\/b><\/h2>\n

    • Together with the English Teacher, create and implement an <\/span>annual English course plan<\/span><\/i> adapted to the team\u2019s needs.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support and collaborate with <\/span>external English teachers<\/span><\/i> when needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Help monitor progress by preparing and conducting <\/span>written and spoken English tests.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      4) Administrative (5%)<\/b><\/h2>\n

      • Participate in <\/span>regular operational and strategic follow up<\/span><\/i> meetings<\/span><\/i> with Coral Guardian.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Contribute to the <\/span>project reporting deliverables<\/span><\/i> to the Administrative teams (tourism, financial, operational, administrative).<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Report any blocking issues for tourism or outreach activities and propose solutions together with the Coral Guardian team.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Very <\/span>good <\/span><\/i>spoken and written English<\/span><\/i>; ability to support basic English learning.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Strong communication and public-speaking skills<\/span><\/i>, comfortable presenting to groups (tourists, partners, local communities).<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Comfortable in the water and <\/span>basic swimming skills.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
          • Ability to <\/span>coordinate activities<\/span><\/i>, manage schedules, and handle logistics with multiple partners.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Interest in marine conservatio<\/span><\/i>n, coral reefs, or MPAs <\/span>(an advantage; willingness to learn is essential).<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              • Proficiency with digital communication tools (WhatsApp, email, Google Drive, basic office tools).<\/span><\/li>\n
              • A plus: <\/span><\/i>Ability to learn and follow scientific or technical protocols and explain them clearly.<\/span><\/li>\n
              • A plus:<\/span><\/i> Proven experience in hospitality, underwater activities, community outreach, environmental education, or related fields.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
